Violet our beautiful girl

If there is a matriarch of the flock it would have to be Violet. She was one of our first. She's a survivor, she's smart and she's friendly.
In the fall of 2017, we were just growing our first flock of breeders and had 4 or 5 of each breed. one Saturday Carly and i went out to town, and when we came back several hours later, 7 or 8 of our birds- about half the flock- had been hunted
down and killed by a predator. We think it was a neighbor's dog because each chicken was dead with some feathers torn out, but no flesh gone. Sad... but there was Violet- after the trauma... the massacre... walking around clucking for mama and papa!!
